Hong Kong Awards for Industries
Hong Kong's official annual recognition for industry and commerce, led by the Trade and Industry Department with the organising committee chaired by a Deputy Director-General of Trade and Industry. The 2025-26 edition has five categories, organised respectively by the FHKI, the CMA, the HKRMA, the HKGCC and the HKYIC. Two categories judge products (consumer product design, equipment and machinery design); three judge companies (customer service, innovation and creativity, upgrading and transformation). For Hong Kong manufacturers, retail-service businesses and companies mid-transformation, this carries the most weight.
You're a Hong Kong company with a product you designed, a formed customer-service system, or an upgrading story you can tell clearly, and you want a government endorsement to take to mainland and overseas buyers.
Pure software and ICT solutions — that's the HKICT Awards' turf; and pure OEM work with no design of your own or service system doesn't fit any of the five categories.
- Entry / deadline
- Each category is announced and collected by its own organising chamber; entries for the 2025-26 Equipment and Machinery Design category have opened, with the other categories following their organisers' announcements
- Who can enter
- Hong Kong enterprises (product categories judge the entered product; company categories judge overall performance)
Five categories, five organising chambers
You don't enter through the Trade and Industry Department — you go to the chamber that organises your category. That also sets the lens: the CMA looks at machinery, the retail association at the service floor, the general chamber at creativity.
How it splits from the HKICT Awards
The simple split: if you sell software, a platform or a digital service → HKICT Awards; if you sell physical goods, in-store service or the overall standard of the company → Hong Kong Awards for Industries. Smart hardware can go either way, so pick by which circle you want to be remembered in — tech or industry.
- 1
Fix the category first, then find its chamber
The TID site is only an index; entries and rules live with the organising chamber.
Pitfall: Asking the Trade and Industry Department how to enter — wrong door.
- 2
Confirm this edition's deadline and fee
The five categories publish their own schedules and don't run in sync.
Pitfall: Working to last edition's dates and missing this one.
- 3
Prepare accordingly: product entries need design and market results; company entries need systems and numbers
The three company categories judge sustained practice, not a one-off result.
Pitfall: Submitting a single promotion campaign as 'innovation and creativity'.
- 01In machinery → the CMA's Equipment and Machinery Design category is open for 2025-26; ask for the deadline first.
- 02In retail, F&B or services → the Customer Service category (HKRMA) is the closest fit.
- 03Moving from OEM to brand → the Upgrading and Transformation category, and look at the Hong Kong Top Brand elections too; the two run in parallel.
The TID site lists categories and organisers but not per-category deadlines, fees or detailed eligibility — those sit on each chamber's own pages. This page records what the main site and the organisations publish; check with the chamber before entering.
